Whether you have a green thumb or not, indoor plants help improve the décor of your home. However, when it’s time for a big move, what’s the best way to go about packing and transporting them?
In today’s post, local elderly moving services provider Busy Buddies, Inc. shares ways to carefully and efficiently pack indoor plants for an upcoming move.
Prepping the Plants
Preparing the plants starts two days before the day of the move. Larger plants must be pruned and checked for any insects or parasites. They should then be watered to ensure they stay green and healthy until they are transported to the new space.
Assembling the Supplies
When moving elderly parents into a new environment, all their belongings must be safely packed. Indoor plants should be carefully wrapped in plastic wrap to give fragile leaves or branches an added layer of protection from breakage. Line the box with newsprint and place the pot inside the cardboard box. Have the boxes loaded hours before departure and unpack them as soon as possible upon arrival.
Unloading and Unpacking
Now that the plants and the rest of the belongings have arrived at the new home, it’s time to place them in strategic places. Most plants can be concentrated in the living area next to a light source such as a window that receives plenty of sunlight.
